My lovely wife requested a CD that she could listen to at work.  Something that had anger, vitriol and contempt.  Who better to represent our darker emotions than Mr. Costello?  This little disc contains some of Elvis' angrier work, though should not be considered representative.  I mean, if it were, I'd have to make sixteen CDs.

Of course, I took it a step further.  This disc contains a more morose Elvis.  Something that contemplates life in a way that only someone who nicknamed himself "The Bug-eyed Monster from the Planet Guilt and Revenge" can.  This disc tells the story of an alcoholic that destroys personal relationships and, ultimately, dies alone.  I'm a happy guy!  Though I do like the way the two covers work together.

The cover for this disc was designed by my good friend Todd Pengelly, without his knowledge.  Thanks Todd!  I made this disc for John as a sampler of my favorite Ben Folds songs.  I still need to deliver it to him.  Oops.

I've been suffering from panic attacks lately.  It's the cross I bear from being a truly paranoid person who thinks everyone is disappointed in him and will never accomplish anything.  I made this disc for myself.  It's sad, contemplative.  It deals with inner-turmoil, sadness, regret and a frustration over the fact that you can't control the world.  The title is an adaptation of a line from the Marillion song "Sugar Mice."

I made this disc for John and Ryan as an introduction to the Flaming Lips.  Will also be sending it off to various other friends who I feel will enjoy the Lips and subsequently go out and buy all their discs.  Still haven't sent John his disc.

I experimented with putting together mostly High Llamas instrumentals.  I tried it out on Ryan first.  It didn't work.  This version was for John (still haven't sent it off).  I experimented with cross-fading the tracks.  It works a little better but still lacks something . . .

I'm extremely proud of this one.  It's the music of Stephin Merritt (despite my misspelling on the cover).  I've ordered the music to tell the story of a relationship that has self-destructed.  I think the Hopper painting on the cover really gives it an extra sense of loneliness. Made this one for myself.

This is my standard Wondermints Sampler.  Number One.  The cover art is by a young man in Japan whose name I am currently forgetting.  Though they only have four albums out, selecting music from the Mints for a sampler is impossible.  To truly appreciate all their music one must listen to the discs from start to finish.  John will also be getting a copy of this one.  Eventually.

Number two in the Mints gospel according to Gary.  The cover art for this one was adapted from their Japanese single for "Cellophane."  Buy all their albums.  Now.  Again, someday John will get a copy.

One of my most uninventive covers to date.  However, it pretty much sums up Nick Cave.  This is a CD I made for the wife and me.  It's dark.  It's dreary.  It's angry.  I love it.

This is the first in a series of three that I made for my wife and her friend to listen to while they make cards for Disenchanted Cards and Gifts.  Since their delivery I have further refined the tracks by cross-fading them to give a true radio feel.  They're fun discs.  Some of my favorites.

This is the third disc from the Disenchanted Princess series.  The cover art is from Lain: Serial Experiments.  Good stuff there.  For some reason I can't find the cover from the second disc.  Sorry.

Well . . . no.  It isn't really the lost Brian Wilson masterpiece.  It's not even an approximation.  However the cover is the proposed cover for that album.  What's here is my collection of boots that I've accumulated over the years.  Also have several alternate tracks, stereo backing tracks and just some good songs.

Stew is the "leader" of The Negro Problem and one of the finest Pop writers around today.  I changed one of the tracks after I made the cover.  Bad me.  I wanted to provide John with a good sampling of his work, both solo and with a band.  It was hard.  Damn hard.  I've never revised a disc as much as this one.  And each cast off was painful.

So painful in fact that all the cast off songs got their own disc.  Again, this one is for John.  Some day he will receive it.  I just have to get off my lazy butt and mail all these.

Matilda told me that she liked a They Might Be Giants Song.  So she got a CD of smart songs that kids like.  The centerpiece song is a Stephin Merritt song about Count Olaf from the Lemony Snicket series "A Series of Unfortunate Events."  Olaf also makes a cameo on the cover.  I seriously doubt you'll be able to read the track listing as there are roughly 50 songs there.

Years ago I made a tape for Matilda.  We lived in an apartment that was next to a very busy road and she had a difficult time falling asleep because of the noise.  The tape I made helped her fall asleep.  After time, the tape wore out, so she was upgraded to CD.  New tracks, new fun.

Bass and treble heal every hurt.  There's a rebel in a nylon shirt.  But the words are a mystery I've heard, Till you turn it down to thirty-three and a third
